Boroo Gold LLC profiles its environmental rehabilitation

The Mongolian Gold 2019 International Forum and Exhibition took place under the slogan of ‘Advancing Environmental Rehabilitation’ and ‘Increasing Gold Resources’ on March 22-23, 2019 in Ulaanbaatar. 
The event, which was held for the third time, aimed at introducing advanced technologies and world experience to Mongolia’s gold sector, and attracting investment for gold projects, putting gold mining projects into economic circulation, expanding cooperation, and developing gold exploration. It also focused on increasing gold reserve and supply, advancing rehabilitation and deepening public–private partnership. 
S.Narangerel, an environmental engineer of Boroo Gold LLC, gave a presentation on the company’s rehabilitation experience, and its environmental activities at the request of the event organizers. Between 2003 and 2018, Boroo Gold LLC completed technical and biological rehabilitation of 435.7 hectares in its mining area. Four tree nurseries were established during the period and 58 thousand trees including elm, maple, willow and aspen, were planted in the rehabilitated area.  The company also plans to rehabilitate 370.8 hectare area in 2020-2022.
